Portraits

Being truly seen is scary. I help my subjects take off their armor.

We identify the story we want to tell; I plan how best to tell it, and we work together to achieve it. Strategic use of color, light, and clothing enhance the story. Before I touch the camera, I’m sketching, mentally adjusting lights and settings, and seeking inspiration from experts.

The journey behind each portrait—from brainstorming and technique refinement to building systems for efficient culling—has taught me a lot. It’s about bringing together strategic choices, making real connections, and honoring the details to tell a clear and compelling story.
